Intro
Every object vibrates. That vibration touches your mood, your sleep, your clarity. In Feng Shui, we use amulets as small shields that block what drains and amplify what nourishes. I use them in consultations and at home. And yes, they work better when you intentionally decide what to protect and what to attract ✨
Why Amulets Really Change the Atmosphere
It’s not about empty magic. It’s about intention, symbols, and environment. When you choose an object with a clear purpose, your mind registers it and your home supports it. Environmental psychology 101: what you see every day programs you.
Fun fact: in Feng Shui, we call the main door the “mouth of chi.” If the entrance feels heavy, the whole home gets fatigued. A well-placed amulet there changes the narrative of the place.
In sessions, I often start at the entrance. A patient, Lucía, placed a turtle behind her work chair and three red coins at the entrance. She told me a week later: “I stopped procrastinating and sleep better.” It wasn’t just the turtle. It was order, intention, and symbol cooperating.
Key Amulets and How to Activate Them
Choose what you like and makes sense to you. Then cleanse it, declare its purpose, and place it strategically. Here are my favorites and how to use them:
Chinese coins with red ribbon 🧧: activate prosperity. Use 3, 6, or 9. Place them near the door, in the money drawer, or discreetly stuck on the back of the safe. Pro tip: 3 coins inside your work planner. Elephants with trunks up 🐘: invite protection and good luck. Place them facing the door or in the living room. In pairs, in the bedroom, they strengthen union and fertility. Bells or wind chimes 🔔: move stagnant chi and cleanse vibration. Metal for West, Northwest, or North; bamboo for East and Southeast. Avoid hanging them over the bed. Crystals and quartz ✨: a faceted crystal in windows or long hallways diffuses harsh energy and brings light. Citrine in the wealth area, amethyst to calm, rose quartz for relationships. Cleanse and recharge them occasionally. Dragon 🐉: power, protection, expansion. Place it in the East or Southeast. Never in bedrooms or bathrooms. Let it face “inward” toward the home, not toward a wall. Turtle 🐢: support and stability. Ideal behind the desk or in the North. Represents longevity and calm. If you feel unsupported, it’s your ally. Dragon Turtle: combines strength with support. Goes on the desk or professional area. Accompanies promotions and negotiations. Bagua Mirror: iconic and powerful. Only outside, above the door, to deflect energetic arrows from buildings, corners, or antennas. Don’t place it inside the house. Fu Dogs: traditional guardians. In pairs, flanking the entrance. One protects, the other ensures prosperity. Pi Yao / Pixiu: mythical beast that “eats” wealth and never lets go. Useful to attract money and safeguard investments. Face its head toward the entrance or opportunities. Wu Lou (gourd): symbol of health. Use it near the bed or in the health area if there is convalescence at home. Mystic knot and Double Happiness symbol: support loving bonds. Place them in the southwest or on the nightstand if you seek harmony as a couple. How to activate them? Cleanse with gentle smoke, sound, or saline water if the material allows it. Hold them with both hands, take a deep breath, and say out loud: “I activate you to protect my home and attract abundance.” Give it a specific task and keep it dust-free.
Where to Place Them According to the Bagua Map
Map your house from the main door. This way you work by areas, not randomly:
North (career): turtle, dragon turtle, soft water element, discreet metal bell. Northeast (wisdom): amethyst quartz, books, warm light. A small elephant here boosts study. East (family/health): live bamboo, wood, dragon. Avoid excessive metal. Southeast (prosperity): Chinese coins, citrine, small fountain. Nothing broken or sick plants. South (recognition): candles, moderate red color, inspiring paintings. Avoid water here. Southwest (love): mandarin ducks, rose quartz, pairs of objects. Remove sad memories. West (creativity/children): soft metals, bells, space for hobbies. Northwest (helpers/travel): Fu dogs or 6 coins, world map, contact planner. Center (heart of the house): order, good circulation, clear light. Nothing blocking here. In my talks with entrepreneurs, I noticed a pattern: those who care for the entrance, organize cables, and clear hallways feel “new air.” Amulets complete the work; they don’t replace it.
Simple Rituals, Extra Allies, and Common Mistakes
Small habits enhance any amulet:
Order and cleanliness: clutter blocks chi. Clear first, then protect. Live plants: raise energy and filter air. Avoid cacti at the entrance if you receive visitors sensitive to “prickly” things. Conscious colors: neutrals that rest with warm accents. Red activates; use it as a spice, not as soup. Sound and aroma: soft bell at dusk, light incense. Nothing invasive. Mistakes I see daily:
Bagua inside the house: no. Always outside, and only if needed. Too many symbols: overloads sight and exhausts the mind. Less but intentional. Dragons in the bedroom: over-activate energy. Bedrooms need calm. Dirty or broken amulet: loses its function. Repair or say goodbye with gratitude. A little professional anecdote: a director came exhausted. He placed a dragon on his desk and nothing changed. We repeated: cleared papers, turned his chair to have a wall behind him, added a turtle and warm lamp. A month later he wrote me: “I perform without burning out.” The symbol needs context.
Quick checklist for you:
- What do you need to protect now? Your rest, your finances, your relationships?
- Choose 1 or 2 amulets. No more.
- Declare their task and place them in the correct Bagua area.
- Check how you feel in 21 days. Adjust.
I’ll close with this: your home listens. When you align intention, environment, and symbol, the place embraces you back. Amulets are visible reminders of your decision to live with calmness, prosperity, and meaning. And yes, if your mother-in-law arrives with hurricane energy, a wind chime and linden tea for everyone also help 😅
If you want, I can help you map your Bagua and choose your first pieces. What would you like your home to give back to you in the coming months?
