I am slowly learning to say no

I am slowly realizing that standards are not limited to dating, but encompass all areas of my life: my career, friendships and family relationships included.

 I have come to the conclusion that it is not right to allow others to put me down, to give me what they ask for without questioning whether that is what I want, and to make decisions for me without taking my opinion into account.

It is essential that I have control over my life, that I do not allow others to manage it, and that I make my own decisions instead of sitting back and watching while someone else takes the wheel.

 I must also learn to say "no" without fear of what people think, to not force myself into uncomfortable situations, and to ask for what I want instead of accepting what I am offered.

 Although it may make some people uncomfortable, I have the right to voice my opinion, say "no" and ask for what I think is fair.

 It is important to understand that the standards I set for my life are my responsibility and I am free to set them as I see fit.

Learning to say no without feeling bad about it

 I find it easier and easier to say no without feeling that heavy weight in my chest, without having the feeling that I have let someone down.

I have realized that my time and energy have a value, and that I should not waste it on situations or people that do not bring me happiness.

 It is crucial to make the decision not to feel obligated to do something, as there is always an alternative.

 Some individuals may not accept my change of attitude, but that no longer matters to me.

 I have decided that I am the one who has the power to make my own decisions, to follow my instincts and to listen to my heart. Even though saying no may be difficult, I prefer it to accepting something that doesn't make me feel comfortable, pretending to be okay.

I am learning that it is much better to voice my opinion and say no when I don't agree with something.

 It's often easier to say yes for the sake of pleasing others, even those I want to impress.

 But now I know that I have the right to say no, and that will allow me to take control of my future.

 I should never let others determine my life for me, because only I know what is best for me.
